Healing and Deliverance part 1

Psalm 70: 1 – Hasten O God, to save me

Psalm 34:17 – the righteous cry out

Isaiah 26: 3 – You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You.

God – revealing things only He can turn over and show us.

Isaiah 40: 29 – He gives power to the faint,

What does deliverance mean?

Solo – To be saved or rescued out of satan’s power and restored to wholeness of God’s order and well being

Saved

Healed

Delivered

It is not possible to be possessed, however there can be demonic influence

Eternal salvation, peace, deliverance

Completeness

Sozo

To save what was lost, healing and deliverance

Completeness

Shalom – perfect peace

3 parts for deliverance

Tearing down strongholds

Removing legal rights

Casting out any demons

Tearing down strongholds

What is a stronghold- a faulty thinking pattern that is based on lies and deception

Deception is a building block of satan

Deception can cause us to think in ways that block us from God’s best

Two common strongholds

  1. Where we see God incorrectly

If we see God as taskmaster – we may have an unhealthy view of God

God is provider and protector

Jesus is

Holy Spirit is comforter, nurturer

If there is a good fear of God – a holy, respect for Him that is good

If we see God as cruel, cold, uncaring taskmaster

If we feel we have commited an unforgivable sin,

These are areas where there can be a stronghold

If we question His love

“What we think about God is the single most important thing” Graham Cooke.

“God wants us to be confident in His love”

  1. Seeing ourselves incorrectly

Having a hard time seeing the new person that we are

Low self esteem

Lowly perception of who we are and what we are able to do

That is contrary to the word of God

“we can do all things through God who strengthens us”

Questioning if we are forgiven

Lack spiritual confidence in Jesus

Not feeling worthy

Lack the joy of the Lord in our life

3 stages of bondage in the believer

If going to tear down blockages

Attacking first two stages helps us to have success in the third stage

Attacking stages in order for deliverance

  1. Gets facts and beliefs straight

2)  cuts off legal rights

3) casting him out, giving him the boot/kicking him out

Stage 1 bondage

Can come from ignorance, strongholds and deception

Primary weapon – deception

He blinds us, speaks lies to us that in way seem to be true but are slanted

If we keep in God’s word, this is how we pull down strongholds

“we will know the truth and the truth will set you free”

If we are not free, then we are probably bound with lies

Praying, time in His word, praying for revalation, memorizing Scripture

Personal encounter with the Word

If we spit out the word(food) we do not get the spiritual nourishment

Combat the lies by the truth

“my people are destroyed by lack of knowledge” God

We can see God wrongly

Do you know that God loves you more than anyone ever could?

Would you go to any lengths to restore that relationship?

God wants us fully reconciled

He gave Jesus so we could be restored

Who are we in Christ?

If we think we are worthless, then we will live like that

That is what

We are supposed to have died to our old self

We are a whole new person!!!

We are saints

We are not simply sinners who are forgiven

We are saints

We have been adopted in God’s royal family

Legalism vs grace

Legalism – judgement, criticizing

If we keep a list of laws for God to accept and love us, we are living a lie – God has already accepted us

He loved us while we were still sinners

Our good deeds should be a result of our love for God

Law of grace

Worked out through Love

“Who am I, that He is mindful of me”

Helps us to stop sinning when we understand His love

Sin is like chicken nuggets

We are invited to the heavenly banquet

Those nuggets sit

We are not who we used to be

Can’t keep going to mcsin gobbling down garbage

Do good temple maintenance

Do right

Do you love God enough to not do it

Because you love Him so much, you desire thte things He desires for you

Come backc to the place of love

Living out our love for God

Become more like Him

Do because we want to

Not because we are obligated to

Out of a worshipful time

(the woman with the alabaster jar of oil)

We pour out our love for Him because He first loved us

Our sins are forgiven

Do you believe your sins are forgiven

Have to have the faith that our sins are forgiven, then we can go in peace

(what Jesus said to the woman)

Satan is the accuser of the brethren

(who do you think you are)

They overcame him/the devil

By the blood of the Lamb

And the word of our testimony

When the devil comes to remind you of your past, remind him of his future

Constantly talk about how good God is

Guilt keeps us feeling worthless and keeps us in a defeated position

He finds an area that is weak, and goes after it

He knows when we are down

Corporate worship, accountability

Know our sins are forgiven so the enemy does not hold guilt over our heads

  1. We can’t white knuckle it if we have strongholds

The weapons we need are not carnal, but mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds,

Which lies or false beliefs have you built things on?

What are some of your ungodly beliefs?

Combat them with the truth/the word of God

Primary weapon

The sword of God/truth

We were called out of darkness into glorious light

The light will pierce the darkness

We can be held in bondage

Continue in the Word

Strongholds are torn down by meditating on God’s word

Stage 2

Legal rights

Do not give the devil ground

Can’t build unless there is land

The enemy sees a place of weakness, gives the enemy a toe hold/a foot hold

Where we have a root

Unforgiveness

Unrepentant

Ties we need to break

Things we need to renounce/vows we made in the past

Break ourselves off from any ground

Unforgiveness – one of the devil’s biggest tools

Cuts us off from God’s forgiveness

And turns us over to tormentors

When we are bitter and unforgiving against others

We give ground

Unconfessed sins

If we confess our sins

God is faithful and just to forgive what we confess

Repent

That your sins will be blotted out and have times of refreshing

Before the Lord

Unholy soul ties

When two people become close especially sexual ways

Soul ties are formed

Our soul goes back to all the things that were tied to that person’s soul

It is  a sin against our own body

Sins repented of and forsaken

Gifts or objects that keep that tie/the emotional tie

Soul is going back to what was tied to that person

Those things should be sold or destroyed

Cursed objects

Do not bring a cursed thing into your house

Idols, occult books, rings, charms, crystals, etc

Can bring a curse on our life and our homes

Land can be cursed because of the former inhabitants

Which is why sometimes different denominations

Ask forgiveness of the sins of what has gone on before

And bless their home when they move into a new home

To declare it a holy land before the Lord

It is biblical to burn items (don’t burn your

home down if you feel it is cursed)

There are other soul ties that can happen too

Not just in a sexual relationship

Our mind will emotions are tied to

You look to something other than God

Things that are drawing you away from God

Then those are soul ties

Not just sexual

Relationships can be unhealthy

With parents, church members, children

Go to email instead of God

Go to the phone and not the throne

Spoken curses

“I will never amount to anything”

“I hate myself”

“I want to die”

“I don’t think I can stay in this marriage”

“I am never going to be able to do anything”

We can belittle our children in this way as well

Words have power of life and death

We need to repent and take it back

Announce it aloud

Matthew

We are justified and condemned by our words

Generational sins

Repent on behalf of our ancestors and break any curses

That may have come because of their sins or vows

In the name of Jesus

Unholy vows

Swear not by any oath

A legal right gives a demon

Sin

Especially willful sin

The deeper the sin, the bigger the door to the devil

Unholy thoughts (lust/pride)

The enemy tempts us to think the wrong thing

Then becomes a demonic obsession

If we continue down this path, we open the door to more sins

Once we commit those sins, we open the door to more sins

What is the hope

The remedy

Repentance

Verbally confess and repent

If we recognize a specific sin, we repent of that specific sin

And its effect on us

One by one

And release the burdens

Deliverance is a process

We go lie by lie

Replace it by the truth of God

God’s word accomplishes what it set out to do

Day 7 Prayer

As a child of God, purchased by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, I choose to confess and acknowledge the sins of my ancestors. While I don’t like the results of their sins on my life, I choose to forgive and release them, and to not hold them accountable for each and every way that their sins have affected me.

I now renounce all of the sins of my ancestors, and release myself from their effects, based on the finished work of Christ on the cross.

Lord, I am sorry for all of the ways that I have entered into these same sins, and allowed the curses to affect me. I ask You to forgive me for this, and to wash me clean. I choose to receive Your forgiveness.

I affirm that I have been crucified with Jesus Christ and raised to walk in newness of life. On this basis, I announce to satan and all his forces that Christ took upon Himself the curses and judgments due me. Thus I break every curse that has come upon me because of my ancestors. I also break all curses that have been released onto me by others. I also break all curses that I have spoken or thought about myself. I receive my freedom from every one of these curses.

All this I do on the basis of the truth revealed in the Word of God, and in the Name and with the Authority of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen!”
